Continuing on our tour, (Single-file line people. Must we implement the buddy system?!) at the bottom of the staircase we started on, is a slave chamber. Iron bars and locks have since been removed, but a slave would be stuffed in here and forced to stay locked away for days on end. It was a slave trade checkpoint. Slaves would be “unloaded” off the ships from Africa and “stored” here. There would often be multiple people chained per hook. - @jessieadore- #webstagram
